genetic diversity of fusarium semitectum isolates from rice, using rapd and rep-pcr markers
Authors
abstract
abstract: in order to determine genetic variability among 33 isolates of fusarium semitectum, morpho- logical and molecular studies were carried out. isolates from different paddy fields in the north of iran were separated from each other in four morphotype groups. the isolates showed a high level of variation in aerial mycelium, color of colony, number of septa and growth rate on potato dextrose agar (pda). comparison between morphological and molecular methods revealed that in some cases, the groupings of isolates based on morphological method was consistent with molecular groupings with a few exceptions. the results indicate that rapd-pcr and rep-pcr could be used for monitoring intraspecific genetic variability within f. semitectum.

full textAssessment of genetic diversity in Pythium aphanidermatum isolates using ISSR and rep-CR methods
Sixty isolates of Pythium aphanidermatum as the causal agent of sugar beet root rot were selected on the basis of their geographical origins, morphological and genetic diversity studies. Pathogenicity test using the Kruskal-Wallis analysis showed significant differences between the pathogenic potential of isolates. Based on the growth rate, isolates were categorized in two groups with low and h...
full textMolecular characterization of Pasteurella multocida isolates obtained from poultry, ruminant, cats and dogs using RAPD and REP-PCR analysis
In the present study, Randomly Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and Repetitive Extragenic Palindromic sequence-based Polymerase Chain Reaction (REP-PCR) were used to characterize 131 isolates of Pasteurella multocida, originating from different healthy and diseased animal species obtained from several geographical regions of Iran. The RAPD and REP-PCR generated amplified products in the range ...
full textgenetic diversity of cytospora schulzeri isolates using rapd-pcr and mp-pcr markers on apples of semirom region of iran
genetic diversity relationships of 50 isolates of cytospora schulzeri on apple from different parts of the semirom region were analyzed using 15 polymerase chain reaction (pcr) based markers, 7 random amplified polymorphic dnas (rapds) and 8 microsatellite primed polymerase chain reaction (mp-pcr). using 7 selected rapd primers 113 bands were generated, of which 81 bands were polymorphic (71.7%...
full textGenetic variation among Escherichia coli isolates from human and calves by using RAPD PCR
Background: Various strains of Escherichia coli (E. coli) are known as major causes of intestinal and extraintestinal infections in humans and various animal species. Molecular methods are important for the identification of bacterial isolates and nucleotide sequence variations, as well as information on tracking bacterial agents related to the outbreaks, the frequency of the bacterial genetic ...
full textGenetic Diversity of Fusarium oxysporum Isolates from Common Bean and Distribution of Mating Type Alleles
Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum Schltdl. f.sp. phaseoli (Fop), is one of the important diseases of the common bean in Iran and many of the bean growing countries. Incidence of the disease has been reported in tropical and semi-tropical regions of the world. This study was carried out to characterize genetic diversity of F. oxysporum isolates from the common bean by vegetative compati...
